Disk Space Monitoring

EventSentry monitors any fixed disk drive and can generates alerts based on any of the following criteria:

Disk Drive Icon
  • The percentage of free disk space is below a preset limit
  • The absolute free disk space is below a preset limit
  • The automatically calculated disk trend is higher than usual

Disk drives are recognized even when they are added dynamically, and the limits are configured easily using system health packages. Different limits for different drives and/or monitored computers are possible.

Directory monitoring

Directory monitoring allows you to monitor the directory size of one or more directories:

  • Receive Alerts if the directory size is above or below a preset limit
  • Log the directory size to a database

The directory monitoring feature lets you configure whether to include sub directories and how often the size of directories is calculated. The directory size report also shows the physical and logical size of the monitored directories.

Disk space monitoring with the web reports

Disk monitoring also logs disk space information to the EventSentry database and enables you to view current and historical disk space information through the web reports. The following disk space information is available through the web reports:

  • Current free/used disk space overview for selected or all computers, includes percentage and logical drive names
  • Historical disk space information using charts, supports multiple disk drives on the same chart
